Keira's Fresh Start

The absolute beauty that is Keira Knightley graces the front cover of January's British Vogue. Shot by Mario Testino and looking both glossy and slightly nineties [the wet-look hair gel; the strong bushy brow - can't help but think of Ross from Friends, circa '94], Keira exclusively reveals how she nearly quit acting three years ago;

'I think I intended not to work again. I wasn't enjoying what I was doing and I felt terribly guilty about that. I remember hating the idea that I was in a privileged position and couldn't see the point of any of it,' she said. 'I had worked solidly since I was 16, till 22, and I had not been on holiday in all of that time. I didn't know if I was going to go back to acting at all. I think for a long time I thought I wouldn't.'

Luckily for us, instead of quitting the glittering lights of Tinseltown, she went on a tour of Europe with friends and promptly got over it. Excellent stuff. What do you think of her cover?

Beautiful, one of a kind and missed, Isabella Blow in a Philip Treacy hat.

'When I said, 'I know this sounds a bit weird but I want to buy the whole of your collection,' Alexander McQueen offered to sell me a coat for £350. I said, 'That's a lot for a student.' And he said, 'But I made it.' In the end I bought it all for £5,000 but it took me a long time to pay for it'
